BIM authoring in development, using a B-Rep geometry kernel in the browser.

Bunyan is a BIM authoring project in development. It uses an Open CASCADE kernel compiled to WebAssembly and stores projects as parametric recipes. The source is available for technical evaluation; the authoring catalogue and export workflows are still being developed.

Technical details

  • Parametric document model — Project definitions store objects, parameters and references. Geometry and display views are derived from those definitions.

  • Element identity and revisions — The document model is designed to retain element identity through supported edits and record changes in a revision history.

  • Geometry and quantities — Geometry operations use the underlying B-Rep model rather than the display mesh. Results remain subject to kernel tolerances, supported geometry and input quality.

Limitations

Current limitations and evaluation requirements.

  • In development. There is no hosted application; the source is available for technical evaluation.
  • Supported geometry, edits and exchange workflows require version-specific evaluation. Quantities depend on model completeness and the applicable measurement rules.
